Puteri Hibiscus

Puteri Hibiscus, Deep Sleep
Puteri, in my mother tongue simply means Princess.  When I told her name is Puteri, the response was, Puteri who?  I'd answer, Puteri Iskandar.  A very short name for today's malay naming standard.  Today, Puteri is wearing a hibiscus .  So, Puteri who?  Puteri Hibiscus.

Hibiscus

Wild Hibiscus (Baru-baru). April 24th, 2008
This flower reminds me of my childhood life. There were many wild hibiscus new the river in my village. I used to help my auntie to collect the leaves. She used the leaves to wrap fermented rice, a delicacy during festive seasons.

Hibiscus in Front Garden

Hibiscus (Malaysia's National Flower) infront of my lawn. This Hibiscus or "Bunga Raya" as we call it is a little bit too big in size. It reminds of plants in Jack and the Beanstalk.
